Tucked away in east of Brisbane is a hidden gem of a wedding venue: Rainforest Gardens. You’ll find them in the middle of Mount Cotton, just a little bit further than Sirromet Wines, but higher up the mountain. It’s pretty obvious why they’ve called themselves Rainforest Gardens once you take a look at all the lush trees around the venue, and just like a rainforest, there’s plenty of shade to get nice even lighting on your wedding ceremony – one of the hardest parts of having an outdoor wedding.

There’s also a variety of scenic locations for photos around the venue. You and your bridal party can hang out with and hand-feed you own personal alpaca, take a stroll around plenty of green garden spaces, or take a quick buggy ride up to the summit of Mount Cotton and enjoy one of Brisbane’s best sunset spots all to yourself.

With everything that’s been happening in the world, it was such a relief to see Maddie and Mitch get married. They were travelling around Europe with their family when the pandemic was first announced, and it was a miracle they didn’t get stuck there! I actually met Maddie and Mitch back when I shot Maddie’s brother’s wedding in 2019, so it was just like getting back together with old friends. It was a stress-free, chill wedding day, photographing two beautiful people marry each other in a beautiful spot for a wedding.
